Working actor Jonathan Chapin probably had no idea that his career would be remembered for one short line in a John Hughes comedy. But since 1984, Chapin’s role as Jimmy Montrose in Sixteen Candles has endured as the crowning achievement that has kept people stopping him on the street and calling him an asswipe (usually in good fun).
